Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Comment Viewer. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

What Comment Viewer is, and who it is not

Comment Viewer is a viewer for comments that TikTok, Instagram and YouTube already publish publicly. You give it a link to a public post; it shows you the post and its comment section, and can export that comment section to a CSV or Excel file for you.

Comment Viewer is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to TikTok, ByteDance, Instagram, Meta, YouTube, Google, or any of their affiliates. Their names and marks belong to their owners and are used here only to describe what the tool works with. Comment Viewer never asks for, receives, or uses your credentials on any of those networks, and nothing is ever posted, followed, liked, or viewed there on your behalf.

What the service does not do

Being plain about the boundary is part of the product, so it is part of these terms too. Comment Viewer cannot and does not:

  • Reach private accounts, or any content that is not public on the network it was posted to.
  • Recover deleted posts or comments, or content blocked in your region.
  • Assemble one person's comment history across a network.
  • Tell you who viewed someone else's profile, post, or story.
  • Do anything that requires another person's password or account access.
  • Supply data a network does not publish, such as an exact timestamp or exact like count on a YouTube comment.

Any claim to the contrary, here or elsewhere, is not one we make.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA and UK, where a higher age applies), be able to form a binding contract, and comply with all applicable laws. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Violate laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
  • Use the service to harass, stalk, dox, or build a surveillance record of another person.
  • Republish, sell, or advertise with someone else's content or comments without their permission.
  • Redistribute comments exported here in a way their authors have not authorised.
  • Interfere with, reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the service.
  • Attempt to bypass security, rate limits, billing, credits, or access controls.
  • Use the service to create or distribute malware, spam, or fraudulent activity.

Content you save

Every post and comment you see here belongs to the person who made it, not to you and not to us. We claim no rights in it, and exporting a copy through Comment Viewer grants you none.

Keeping a copy for your own analysis or reference, or of comments on your own posts, is ordinary use. Publishing it elsewhere, or using it commercially, needs the creator's permission — which is between you, them, and the law where you are. It is not something this tool can grant.

Public data can also be wrong or out of date: counts, captions and profile details are whatever the network returned at the moment you asked, and a post can be edited or removed afterwards. Check anything you intend to rely on.

Copyright and takedowns

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the service infringes your copyright, send a notice to hello@commentviewer.net with: identification of the work, the material you claim is infringing and its location, your contact details, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized. We may remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers.

Payments, credits, and subscriptions

Paid features may require credits, one-time purchases, or subscriptions. Prices, included usage, renewal terms, and limits are shown at checkout or in the product. Taxes may apply.

You authorize us and our payment providers to charge applicable fees. Failure to pay may result in limited access, suspension, or termination. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

Third-party services

The service runs on third-party providers for hosting and edge security, data retrieval, database, object storage, payments, sign-in, email and analytics. They are named individually in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies, and an outage or a change on their side can affect what Comment Viewer can do.

Intellectual property

The service, software, branding, design, and related materials are owned by us or our licensors. Except as expressly allowed, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the service.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create risk for the service or other users, fail to pay fees, or use the service in a way that may expose us to liability.

You may stop using the service at any time. Certain sections of these terms will survive termination where their nature requires it.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

We also do not warrant that any particular profile, post or comment will be retrievable. Comment Viewer depends on what each network publishes and on the providers listed in our Privacy Policy; a post can be taken down, made private, region-locked, or simply fail to come back, and none of that is something we can promise around.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid to us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Comment Viewer and its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms or applicable law.

Your local law still applies

Comment Viewer names no governing law and no exclusive forum. Nothing in these terms removes or limits any mandatory consumer protection, refund right, or cancellation right available to you where you live, and nothing here requires you to bring a claim somewhere other than where your own law entitles you to bring it.

If something goes wrong, write to hello@commentviewer.net first. Most of what these terms cover — a charge, a refund, a file that did not arrive — is faster to settle that way than through anyone's courts.

General

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Cookie Policy, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.
