What it reads, and what it will not pretend to

Can I read Instagram comments without an account?
Yes. This Instagram comment viewer never logs in — paste a post or reel link and the whole thread loads in your browser. An account on this site is only needed for an export, and it is free to create.
Will the poster know I read the comments?
No. There is nothing signed in here, so there is no account for a read to be attributed to.
Does it work on reels?
Yes. Reels, carousels, single-photo posts and old IGTV videos all have one comment section behind one link, and each reads the same way. The reel itself shows as its cover with a link to Instagram, because Instagram's video files cannot be played from another site.
Does it include replies?
Yes, both on screen and in the export. On screen you open a thread under the comment it belongs to. In an export, each top-level comment is followed by its replies within the same row limit — each row carries its parent's id, so the structure survives.
How many comments can one export return?
Up to 20,000 rows in a single run. Instagram hands its comments out about ten at a time, so a full 20,000-row export takes a while — it runs in the background and the file waits for you when it is done.
Can I pick a giveaway winner from the export?
The export gives you every commenter's username and profile link in a spreadsheet, which is the list a draw needs. Picking the winner — and checking entries against your own rules — is up to you.
Does this work on private accounts?
No. Only public posts are reachable. Anything claiming to unlock a private Instagram account is not telling you the truth.
Can I see comments someone left across Instagram?
No. Instagram does not publish a feed of everything one account has commented, so no tool can assemble one. What is reachable is the comment section of a post, which is what this reads.
What is actually in the exported file?
The comment text, the username and a link to the profile, the display name, likes, reply count, whether it was pinned, the date, plus the row's own id and its parent's. CSV or Excel, your choice.
Can this get my Instagram account restricted?
It cannot reach your account to affect it. You never connect it, authorise it, or type a password, and nothing is posted, followed or liked on your behalf.
Nothing loaded. What went wrong?
Almost always one of three things: the link is a profile rather than a post, the account is private, or the post has been taken down. A public post's comments load in a few seconds, so an empty result is usually one of those rather than a fault.
Is Comment Viewer connected to Instagram?
No. It is independent and unaffiliated. Instagram is a trademark of its owner.
